As you read in my public blog, Working With Shame, it is not ours. Shame comes from being shamed. Healing means unloading it from ourselves and returning it to its rightful owner. This process does not have to be an experience with the other person; it is a practice of undoing the imprint left on you by acknowledging that it isn’t you and releasing it from your body.
